The Story Behind The Name
A business name can be just a name or it can tell you something about what sits underneath it.
For us, it had to be the latter. We wanted something that captured what we’ve experienced throughout our careers: growth, change, uncertainty, transformation and the inevitable chaos that comes with all of it.
That’s how we landed on Morrigan.
So, who or what is Morrigan?
Morrigan is a figure from Celtic mythology, often associated with transformation, change, power and fate. She’s a complex figure, with different interpretations across the stories she appears in, but one theme kept standing out to us: she belongs in the moments where things are changing. She’s in those moments of uncertainty and the moments where one version of something is ending and another is beginning. This all felt very familiar as it's where we’ve spent a lot of our careers.

We know the messy middle
Growing businesses rarely follow a neat plan. You start with a small team and everyone knows everyone. Processes live in people’s heads, hiring happens through introductions and instinct, and then someone starts next Monday and someone else figures out the paperwork.
Then suddenly, you’re 50 people. Then 100.
You’re now hiring in new markets, your managers are managing for the first time and teams are changing shape. The business is moving faster than the processes designed to support it and so the old way of doing things doesn’t quite work anymore. But the new way hasn’t been built yet. That’s the messy middle and it’s exactly where we like to work.
From chaos to clarity
Morrigan isn’t about creating layers of process for the sake of it.
We believe growing businesses need just enough structure to support where they’re going next without slowing them down or stripping away what made them successful in the first place. That might mean building a hiring strategy or it might mean creating the People infrastructure that has been missing. It might mean figuring out why hiring has become chaotic, why managers aren't equipped to interview, or why the employee experience looks completely different depending on which team you're in.
Sometimes it means stepping in and doing the work ourselves or it could mean helping you build the capability to do it without us. The answer changes depending on the business but the principle doesn’t.
Channel the chaos. Create clarity. Make change work.

Why it fits what we do
Talent and People sit right at the heart of business change. When a company grows, everything changes.
→ Who you need changes
→ How you hire changes
→ How managers lead changes
→ How teams work changes
→ What people expect from the business changes
You can’t separate hiring from the organisation you’re building or People strategy from the business you’re trying to create, which is why Morrigan brings Talent + People together.
We help growing businesses navigate the point where what worked before no longer works, and build what needs to come next.
We don’t impose a giant corporate playbook, nor do we pretend there’s one right answer, and we definitely don’t disappear after handing over a strategy deck. What we actually do is get into the detail, working alongside the people doing the work, and building what the business actually needs.
Transformation doesn't have to mean losing what made you successful
This is probably the part of the Morrigan story that matters most to us.
Growth doesn't mean becoming corporate, structure doesn't have to mean bureaucracy and process doesn't have to mean removing personality.
Change doesn't have to mean losing what made people want to join you in the first place. The trick is knowing what needs to change, what needs to stay, and what needs to be built for the next chapter. That’s the work we do and that’s why we chose the name.
Morrigan represents the messy bit between where you are and where you’re going.
→ The change
→ The transformation
→ The uncertainty
→ The opportunity
And, hopefully, a little wisdom to help navigate it.
